Okay- I’ve got to get better at posting more between Thursdays (or Fridays, in this case.)! My blog almost consists of nothing but Thankful Thursday posts lately! It’s been a pretty busy week, but fairly slow at work. It’s finally Friday though and, I’m more thankful for that than usual! Why? It’s a long weekend for both Nate and I! Pretty excited to relax and hang out with my Husband for an extra day!!

So, let’s get to it the Thursday thankfulness, on a Friday!! This week I am thankful for:

Friends Who Like To Clean Out Their Closets

Or, more specifically – Friends Who Give Me Clothes. =) Kristie let me go through a ton of clothes that she was getting rid of when we were up in Cincinnati last weekend and I ended up bringing a nice little pile home! This skirt is probably my favorite thing that she gave me. I wore this to work yesterday with a pair of grey tights, a cream cardigan with little grey, peach, and purple flower embellishments, and my peep toe black heels. Of course, once I got home I ended up shedding some of the layers- it was kind of hot for that outfit to start with but I am anticipating Fall weather so much that I’ve started dressing for it and then regretting it the second I walk outside. I will eventually get a picture of that whole outfit put together- I got a lot of compliments at work! Mostly because I never wear heels and everyone noticed that I was towering over everything/everyone, so they’d get this dumbstruck look on their face and then have to say something and a compliment would fall out of their mouth. YES, I am aware that I look like a giraffe when I wear heels, guys! Anyway- I’m thankful for giving friends. That is the point that I’m trying to make.

Football Season

Okay- so some of you are like, “YEAH, whatever Stephanie! You just want to impress your Husband!” And if you’re thinking that- you’re wrong. I am truly thankful for football season. I am not always thankful for the mood it puts Nate it- but when we win I’m extremely thankful for that mood! And, I’m not always excited about making plans around football games and losing a lot of Saturday free time to what time the game is ..etc. HOWEVER, I do enjoy going to UK football games! I love this time of year- it goes hand in hand with the Fall weather and the wonderful clothes! I love tailgating with friends. I love traveling to away games with friends and all of the fun memories that go with road trips! So believe it or not- I’m excited about it! That could change in a few months…. BUT FOR NOW- =)

YouTube Videos That Crack Me Up

I was going to have like, A REAL SERIOUS last thing to be thankful for. But then I saw this video.. which most people have already seen apparently and I have been living under a rock. I was crying laughing the first time I watched it and if I watch it a few more times I’m pretty sure it’s going to be just as hilarious. Make sure to watch the original video (here) to get a full understanding of what’s going on. My favorite part is that the reporters are able to stay so professional. I would have been on the ground laughing… at the scene of an attempted raping.. and that is why I’m not a reporter.

So, everyone knows that I’ve ranted and raved about Modcloth.com and their gorgeous style of clothes for a long time. Alas, I have never actually purchased anything from there because I almost never purchase clothing online. I just don’t do it, because I am completely paranoid about getting the clothes and them not fitting. I really like to try things on because I tend to like something and then change my mind after I try it on- especially dresses because I am a giant and most of them fit like shirts. Okay, okay- but this store is making me want to purchase online! What store? Shopruche.com! I hadn’t heard of this store until a few weeks ago and I’m really excited about their new Fall selection!

This dress isn’t exactly Fall-ish but, I could dress it up with a cardigan and some tights! LOVE.

And, look at this gorgeous necklace!!! Cameo love!!

And these would be just perfect with all of my colorful tights!!

(as it would turn out, all of these items are currently sold out. ugh!)

There really are too many cute things for me to even think about posting! I love them all so much. And, as an added bonus- there is also a section for the extremely fashionable curvy women out there! I’m becoming more aware that I post mostly images and fashion links that pertain to my body and what I am- but I know I have readers of all sizes and heights! So I’m going to start incorporating a wider perspective on beauty and fashion here when I get the chance!

This past weekend in Cincinnati was a much needed get-away full of fun! We headed up late afternoon on Saturday, arrived, and hung out for a bit at the apartment. Kristie let me go through a bunch of clothes she was getting rid of and I was like a kid in a candy store. I feel like we like a lot of the same styles of clothes so I knew I was going to want a lot of it! Once our friend Riah (Rye-UH) got there I had to postpone my “shopping” so we could all head to Buffalo Wild Wings for a yummy dinner! I wasn’t very hungry because I didn’t know we were eating such an awesome dinner and I lost my mind in a gas station and spent the entire drive up stuffing my face with snacks. Whoops. We left there, walked back to the apartment, and walked over to the awesome pub next door that holds so many fun memories! We weren’t there too long before making our way back over to the apartment to get dressed for the dance cruise! And then, it was finally time to go! After 3 instances of someone losing or forgetting their tickets we finally made it to the boat with no time to spare. I’ll let the pictures do the rest of the talking!

Reaaaally excited to be waiting in the line.. haha!

I could try to explain what’s going on here.. but I wont.

Not sure what song is being sung, but Ryan and Kristie are obviously doing a good job!

Pausing my dancing to take a picture!

Hah! I love this picture of Riah & I!

Don’t be scurred!

This cake (one of three) is like Reese’s Cup/Vanilla/Chocolate cake .. I can’t explain how wonderful it was.

Ryaaaaaannnnn!

No one ever knows when I’m taking a picture of them. LOL

I love how you can see the bridge in the background!

It’s all over! :(

The next day we went to Findlay Market, had an amazing lunch there, and then ended up at the Red’s game! Perfect weekend in Cincinnati!

“Little Italy” sandwich on Ciabatta bread. Yumm.

Oh and, Friday night we went and had dinner with Ashley’s family for her Mom’s birthday! I’ll leave you with my favorite picture from that night:

This week has been a pretty great one- can’t think of anything to complain about! But here we are again with one day left in the work week, headed into a wonderful weekend! And as I mentioned in my last post- we’ve got a pretty busy weekend scheduled involving dressing up and dancing the night away on a river boat cruise! Unfortunately this will be our last weekend in Cincinnati as we’ve known it for quite some time. Jackson and Kristie are moving and we wont be seeing them near as much. I’m sad, but- I’m thankful for all of the great times we’ve had with them there in Cincinnati! And now, we’re going to add one last great memory to the list! Can’t wait to make more in their new city, even if it is further away!

So this week I’m thankful for:

True Friendships

(some of my true friends, heeyyy.. obviously i had them in my wedding)

There are certain people in your life that you know you’ll always be friends with regardless of how often you talk or see each other. And when you get together you can have fun lounging on the couch or out and about having a great time. You can sort of grow apart for a while.. and then come back together when you need it most. And I love this- it’s genuine friendship. I used to kind of think of friendship as something that needed to be held onto very tightly, maybe due to a fear of losing people in my life. But more recently, as I’ve experienced some of that growing apart and growing closer again aspect- I sort of see it differently now. Instead of holding on for dear life, it’s just better to let go- and let it breathe. If it’s real, it isn’t going to go anywhere. =) I’m so thankful for my true friends- both here and in Florida!

The Smell Of Fall In The Air

I know I’ve talked about being thankful for Fall and how close we are to it- but today- I walked out of work and it smelled like Fall and I had to suppress the urge to dance through the parking lot to my car. There was a cool breeze and it just .. smelled like Fall! It’s hard to explain. But, today was the first day I’ve experienced that so I am definitely thankful! Yay! =)

Little Marriage Routines

(credit to: louisa_xo)

Nate leaves early in the morning before I wake up and then I don’t see him all day until after work. He makes a point to wake me up just a little bit when he leaves and lay over top of me and hug me and kiss my face for at least a minute before saying bye. I love this and it makes me not feel so alone when I wake up and he’s gone. He also text messages me when I wake up each morning with a really upbeat, “Good morning Wife!” text message. It’s always different though and I wait anxiously to see what he will text me. And then, I let him know when I’ve arrived safely at work. And we text throughout the day on our breaks. This communication is key- in my opinion! It’s just little reminders all day that we miss each other and are thinking of the other one. I’m super thankful for our little routines!

So, have any of you started your own Thankful Thursdays? Leave a comment and a link in the comments if you have! I’d love to read them. =)
